I was so excited to be asked to teach a photography class for the kids at summer camp at Westinghouse!  They picked up everything so fast! Teaching these tiny geniuses how to use a camera was so fun.
We learned that art class is the most fun because there is no right or wrong. Also, we learned about color, contrast, emotion, zooms, and what a bokeh is, and how to set it up so you get the best bokeh for your photo.
After we went through the basics of how to frame, we did a mini-shoot with some toys I brought from home for a still life. The TMNT Leonardo was a great model as well as the truck, and the chickies preferred the butterfly with sequin string. Then they took turns shooting with a 100mm lens and a 50mm lens to know the difference between zooms. They had a ton of questions, and were inquisitive and smart! I was floored with how they picked up everything easily. Some of them learned faster than I did 😉
If you’d like a class for your kids or classroom, send me an email. I’d be so excited to bring more little minds into the artist world!
