I was so excited when I got an email from Susanne saying that she had gotten engaged! She is truly one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever known. She is also a little nature girl, a hippie at heart, and a DIY Goddess. I wasn’t surprised when Susanne told me that one of her wedding colors was green [ π ] and that her wedding ceremony was going to be held outside in they beauty of nature. I met up with her and Brad, who is just as wonderful as Susanne, and I found myself really looking forward to working in a gorgeous setting with these two sweethearts.
The wedding ceremony and reception were held at Lutherlyn, which is located in Prospect. It’s a picturesque setting with rolling hills, beautiful woods, and gorgeous trails, each making for a lovely place for photos.
I adored Susanne’s dress, as it reminded me of my own. It fit her perfectly, and the lace looked so dreamy, with a cute little bow on the back!
Susanne’s lingerie echoed her wedding gown. It was dreamy and romantic, and so sweet.
Miss Callie relaxed on the couch while the girls got ready, and she actually spent the whole day with her “Mom and Dad”! Callie is an important part of Susanne and Brad’s relationship and wanted her to be included in the wedding day–she even got to pose for a few bridal photos!
Susanne was a very hands-on bride! She helped all her girls get ready before getting dressed herself! She was the wonderful bride that thought of the needs and wants of her girls, her family, and all her friends throughout her day–not just her own. She’s a true gem!
The girls had these adorable two-tone dresses. The dress was navy, with the corset material being kiwi. It was a really cute color combination!
The wedding ceremony was held in the amphitheater at Lutherlyn, and provided the gorgeous backdrop Susanne loved about nature. This was the perfect setting for her!
Their unity ceremony was done with sand, each in their wedding colors.
This is the wonderful branch arch at the beginning of the amphitheater. It made the perfect frame for these lovebirds!
At Lutherlyn, the road is framed with these perfect symmetrical trees, giving a stunning backdrop.

We headed up the hill by the outdoor chapel where we found rolling hills and this beautiful field of goldenrod.
I also applied a tiiiiny bit of Photoshop here, just to bring out that antique look with the rolling hills and the suspenders and the hourglass gown. Sometimes all you need is a hint and all the elements come together!
This field of goldenrod was incredibly vast and picturesque, so I decided to apply a little Photoshop to filter in a bit of an antique feel!
Also Photoshopped a little bit of an antique feel…it gave it a romantic feel with the goldenrod and the sky!
Susanne loved this iron cross, so we did some ultra-wide shots in front of it for an interesting look!
Susanne, being an artist herself, knew all about negative space. I was excited when she asked me to do some photos with negative space with her and Brad! I love doing this, as it gives more of an emotional feel to a photo. Here we have a close up of their faces looking at each other with love and bliss of just saying vows, and the pines in the background creating a dreamy green bokeh in which to frame them.
One of my personal favorites! I loved these old pine trees, they are dark and mysterious, and provide so much green and create a lovely backdrop.
And then the pines…so beautiful! One of my favorites!
And then Miss Callie joined us! This was so great because two of their friends went after the ceremony to the reception hall, and waited for us in the clearing with Callie so we could do some photos with her.

So, Susanne was a girl after my own heart with her love of mushrooms! I was so excited to do these macro shots with the rings posed on these cute little mushrooms! And I was also happy to do them because I knew Susanne would love them as much as I did!
The lush moss also gave a beautiful backdrop. The diamonds really stood out against the dark green!
Loved these favors–they were seed packets! You planted the blue leaf…how fun is that!
Loved how Brad twirled Susanne during their first dance!
Susanne and Brad are just so fun to watch together. They were so happy dancing and sharing their day–I loved doing these ultra close ups during their first dance because it showed so much adoration between the two of them! So romantic!
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Congratulations, Susanne and Brad! Thank you for sharing your wonderful day with me, I wish you two nothing but the best! Love you both!
Fantastic job as usual.. You caught a lot of beautiful moments and the couple must be extremely pleased!
Thank you so much! π It was a very easy job to do with the setting and this wonderful couple. Thanks for the visit π
